GOVERNMENTRESPONSE TO THE HOUSE OFLORDS SELECT COMMITTEE ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY’S REPORTON COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

Reiki Regulatory Working Group

Following House of Lords questions to the Government about the practice of complementary and alternative medicine, and the Governments response in 2002, the Reiki Regulatory Working Group (RRWG) was formed. Government Funding for complementary therapy working groups was made available through The Prince of Wales Foundation for Integrated Health. A number of Reiki organisations joined forces to work towards an agreed system of Voluntary Self-Regulation for Reiki Professional Practitioners i.e. those practitioners working in a professional setting such as hospices. Funding was granted and RRWG became the umbrella organisation for Reiki where member organisations could exchange views, concerns and standards; discussing best practice in working towards the voluntary self regulation of Reiki and creation of the single UK Register of Professional Reiki Practitioners.
